What is a closure piece??

It’s a 5″ x 4″, 13" x 2", 13" x 4" size or 360 frontals individual hair piece that is sewn onto your cornrows near at your hairline. The piece can be parted anywhere within the base of the closure, so you can have a middle, side, off-center parting. It comes in a natural dark brown/natural black color (similar to 1b or 2 (sometimes even a 4 but rare) on a color chart).

Why would I wear a closure?

The purpose of a closure is to give the impression of a “real” natural looking scalp without actually having any of your real hair out. Yes, this is a protective style as you will not have to apply heat to your own natural hair to blend with your extensions. Unless you prefer to leave some of your hairline out.

Whats the difference between a silk closure and a lace closure?

Which is better? The silk closure has 2 layers: the swiss lace and then a silk fabric on top. The hairs are then individually woven through the silk fabric and secured under the lace. The hairs coming through the silk fabric give the appearance of a scalp. The lace is the same thing without the silk fabric. Individual hairs are woven and secured directly through the lace. There isnt a concrete answer of which is better than the other, it is totally YOUR personal preference.

I don’t want it to look “wiggy”

When properly installed over a flat foundation, the closure will lay flat and hairs will face the correct direction. If you experience puffiness, you can smooth the hairs down with a hot curling irons with force the hairs to lay down. You can also tie your hair at night with a silk or satin scarf to get it even flatter.

I want color/highlights

The hair comes in a natural color with no previous dyes, so it can be colored as your natural hair would be. If you have greys at your hairline, its strongly suggested you dye these hairs prior to your appointment.

Can I wash it?

Yes, you can wash your closure when you wash your weave. This must be done with extreme patience and care to avoid tangling.

What causes balding? How can I prevent this from happening to me?

Balding is when your closure begins to have a spot where the hairs have come out of the base creating an open/bald area. This is caused by excessive tugging, brushing/combing, scratching with fingernails or foreign objects, applying product directly on the closure, rough handling, vigorous washing, etc… Just keep in mind that this is not your real scalp, so you must handle your closure with care! Each hair is individually implanted into the base, knotted and secured with a strong adhesive. So you can actually pull the hairs out by being rough with your closure or with excessive tension and unfortunately, there is no way to fix this, but to replace it with a new one. So take very good care of your closure and you will get a long life out of it as many women do!

My hair is starting to show underneath… what should I do?

This simply means your hair is growing, as it should! Once your hair grows, the closure lifts up with it. So you just need to make an appointment for an adjustment so that you can have your closure adjusted back to the hairline.
